Struggling with chronic health issues?
Nutrition therapy takes a bio-individual approach to find where a person is struggling and addresses the root cause to create long term results bringing the body back to a state of balance and health by focusing on the six foundations.
Nutrition Therapy looks at what, when, why and how a person is eating what they eat and and adjusts it to help them reach their health goals
The Six Foundations of Health
Nutrient-Dense Diet
Real food made by nature is key to nutrition therapy. So much food is modified to claim benefits to health, but real food straight from nature is what the body understands and knows how to use best. Food should be enjoyed but also used to provide the nutrients needed to maintain a healthy body.
Digestion
The best diet in the world will not create health if your digestion is not working properly. Every cell in the body depends on the work of the digestive system to bring in and adequately break down nutrients for the body. Digestion is one of the most important foundations and is critical to overall health.
Blood Sugar Regulation
In our world of highly processed foods that are high in sugar and low in nutrient content blood sugar imbalances are very common. Dysregulated blood sugar can cause many issues within the body and can negatively affect hormones, mood, tissue integrity and energy levels if not managed properly.
Fatty Acid Balance
For many years fats have been demonized as being "bad" but that is not the case. Fatty acids support the body in many ways. Fats provide energy, and are the building blocks of the cell membranes and hormones, they aid in the absorption of vitamins and more. Having appropriate amounts of fatty acids in the diet is important to health.
Mineral Balance
Minerals are necessary to health. They act as cofactors for enzyme reactions, they transfer nutrients, contract and relax muscles, maintaining nerve conduction and much more.
Hydration
We all know that drinking water is good for us but we may not really know why. Hydration is important for so many processes within the body from aiding in digestion, to detoxification, to maintaining the electrical properties of cells and the transportation of nutrients.
